The Possibilities Of Play Dough And More....

Explore n' Play

Play dough is the perfect developmental material for children to use either at school or in the home.

It is a sensory activity that can be changed with colour, scents or mixed with things like glitter, shells, or pasta for example to change the play each time.

It provides a perfect activity to help develop their fine gross motor skills, building up hand and finger strength and as a prerequisite for writing.

During play children are able to mould, squish, squeeze, flatten, cut, roll and manipulate the dough into any shape or creation of their choosing.

These movements are helping to develop the muscles that will help give your child their independence, for dressing themselves, doing buttons and poppers  (snaps), tying their shoelaces, and eating without assistance. These are big skills needed by your child as they grow. For example Using simple safety scissors with play dough gives your child the confidence and knowledge of them for when they are required to use them in school.

As a material play dough can be used in math, language, and as a dramatic play enhancement, increasing the children's vocabulary and social skills along the way as they play.

Gloop is a good scientific sensory material to experience, children feel the different properties as  they pick up, mould and play with it.
